My Portfolio
A pastel artist
Coming from a line of seamstresses and a family of Breton sailors, I developed a special connection to fabrics and the bonds they weave—emotional, social, and cultural—as well as a love for distant horizons at a very early age.
My journey took me to India in 1997 to pursue a Ph.D. in ethnology focused on the sari, women, and representations of the body. This experience marked a decisive turning point, both intellectually and artistically. Upon returning to France in 2010, after ten years in Italy, I settled in the Greater Geneva area, where I furthered my studies in drawing at the École des Beaux-Arts du Bassin Genevois and then in pastel under a master pastel artist in Lyon.
An Approach Fueled by Encounters
For more than thirty years in a multicultural environment, I have drawn inspiration from the stories of the women I meet. In the past, I would give them a sketch or a photo as a token of my gratitude—a gesture that was always received with joy. Today, I continue this tradition through painting.
Inspired by fabrics from the five continents, I drape my portraits of women to explore femininity and human dignity through cultural diversity. Dry pastel, with its velvety texture, has become my medium of choice for bringing fabrics and skin to life. My subjects, never shown from the front, gaze into the distance—a distance that invites an encounter where differences unite rather than divide.
Exhibition History
I have been a pastel artist since 2016 and have been exhibiting my work through art organizations. Selected since 2021 for national pastel exhibitions, I have exhibited since 2025 at the United Nations, the World Intellectual Property Organization, and the ICDO (International Cultural Diversity Organization) in Vienna, venues that resonate with my commitment to preserving traditional craftsmanship and cultural diversity.
