I Miss India

I Miss India Soft Pastel 60 x 90 cm 2021 Created after my return from India, I Miss India grew out of the sense of longing for a country that profoundly shaped my journey. The figure seen from behind, the flowing sari and her gaze turned towards an unseen elsewhere evoke distance and nostalgia. Here, fabric becomes a tangible connection to a place we have left behind, yet which continues to live within us.

Farfalla Dry pastel, matt pastel 50 x 70 cm 2021 Farfalla, meaning ‘butterfly’ in Italian, celebrates movement, lightness and the zest for life. The ruffles of the dress seem to dance between light and freedom.
